Reinsurer Canopius picks David Hoffman as Marine Underwriter

This is in line with the firm’s continued APAC expansion.

David Hoffman has been appointed as Marine Underwriter at Canopius Group, a global speciality (re)insurer headquartered in Australia.

Based in Sydney, David will work closely with the team in Singapore to deliver a marine portfolio throughout the broader Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

Hoffman will also oversee the expansion of the company's marine offering throughout Australia.

With over 25 years of industry experience, David has held senior underwriting, claims adjustment, and portfolio management-focused roles across various marine classes, including cargo, liability, and hull. Before joining Canopius, he was Head of Marine at Lion Underwriting and Senior Marine Loss Adjuster for Sedgwick.

Canopius plans to further expand its marine offering by making additional hires in Australia and the APAC region.
