
Swiss Re brings in 17-year CRO veteran for top risk role
He will succeed Patrick Raaflaub, who is stepping down from the role.
Swiss Re announced that Bernhard Kaufmann will be appointed Group Chief Risk Officer, effective 1 October 2025.
He will succeed Patrick Raaflaub, who is stepping down from the role.
Kaufmann has 17 years of experience as Chief Risk Officer in the re/insurance sector.
He is currently the Group Chief Risk Officer at Helvetia and previously held the same position at NN Group.
Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles at Munich Re Group, including Group Chief Risk Officer. Kaufmann holds a PhD in theoretical physics from the Technical University of Munich.
