Tokio Marine reaches carbon neutrality for 10th year in a row

CO2 emissions removal was executed through mangrove trees.

Tokio Marine Holdings (TMHD) said it has achieved "carbon neutral" status for its overall business activities in fiscal year (FY) 2022 for the tenth consecutive year.

The Tokio Marine Group has undertaken various efforts to reduce its environmental footprint, including energy conservation, planting mangrove trees to absorb and stabilize CO2, and using natural energy sources like green power to offset CO2 emissions from its domestic and international operations.

The Japanese insurer targeted all business activities of TMHD along with its consolidated subsidiaries (in and out of Japan). The statement showed that it was able to remove 93,000 tons of CO2 from its total emissions of 80,201 tons.
