Zurich names new head of general insurance for Australia, New Zealand

Alex Morgan is currently chief risk officer for Zurich Asia Pacific.

Zurich Financial Services Australia has named Alex Morgan as head of general insurance for Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to his new role, Morgan is chief risk officer for Zurich Asia Pacific. He has also served as head of specialty (APAC), chief underwriting officer, global corporate (Japan) and head of financial institutions and management liability (United Kingdom).

Morgan replaces Sean Walker, who has assumed the newly created role of head of commercial insurance (CI) and chief technical officer (APAC).

The appointments are effective from 1 August 2023. Morgan will continue to be based in Sydney.
