NTUC Income Singapore pilots stackable insurance

SNACK allows micro-premiums and micro-policies that cover for 360 days.

NTUC Income Singapore has launched SNACK, a stackable insurance that allows the payment of micro-premiums, according to an announcement.

With SNACK, the insured gradually builds insurance coverage by paying micro-premiums at either $0.30, $0.50 or $0.70 and accumulates micro-policies that offer a specified sum assured that corresponds with the premiums paid. Each micro-policy covers the policyholder for 360 days even after insurance payment stops.

The policyholder can also decide when and how frequent premiums are paid by linking them to preferred lifestyle triggers, such as eating, exercising or taking public transport.

Currently, SNACK is partnered with EZ-Link, Fitbit and Burpple to enable policyholders to accumulate term life, critical illness, and personal accident coverage on the SNACK mobile app. Visa will also come on board to enable retail, entertainment, transport, and grocery triggers for all local cardholders whenever they make a purchase.
