AXA presents new critical illness plan for the underserved segment

The plan will cater for persons living with chronic diseases, older individuals, and survivors of critical illnesses.

AXA Hong Kong and Macau have introduced their new critical illness plan, the CareForAll Critical Illness Plan, with the aim of providing coverage to underserved communities facing health risks.

This plan targets customers living with chronic diseases, older individuals, and survivors of critical illnesses, making it easier for them to access critical illness insurance.

Key highlights of the CareForAll Critical Illness Plan include:

  • Comprehensive Coverage: The plan offers coverage for individuals living with chronic conditions such as diabetes and the "3-Highs" (hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol), as well as survivors of cancer, heart attacks, or strokes. Coverage can reach up to HK$2m.
  • Simplified Underwriting: Unlike traditional critical illness plans with stringent underwriting requirements, applicants for this plan only need to answer a few straightforward health-related questions about their last two years of health history. There is no need for medical examinations or medical report submissions.
  • Support for Older Populations: With the elderly population in Hong Kong expected to grow significantly, the plan aims to address the health needs of older individuals who are more susceptible to chronic diseases and critical illnesses.
  • Wellbeing Support: The plan encourages policyholders to adopt a healthier lifestyle by offering free medical check-ups in the first, third, and fifth policy years. Policyholders can also participate in the AXA Goal (Lite) step count program to earn additional rebates.
  • Guaranteed Renewability: The plan offers guaranteed renewability, allowing policyholders to renew their coverage until they reach the age of 100 without affecting premium rates within each policy term.
  • "Appointment of Designated Person" Option: This option allows policyholders to pre-designate a specific person to file claims and receive benefits on their behalf in the event of a mental incapacitation event or loss of autonomy for independent living.

“We continuously strive to meet not only our customers' current needs but also prepare them for the future. With the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, cancer, heart diseases, and strokes, coupled with the growing ageing population, we are deeply concerned that more and more customers will face these health issues, resulting in a widening gap in their future health coverage.” Sally Wan, Chief Executive Officer of AXA Greater China said.
