PH manpower agencies must deposit $398 insurance for Bahrain-bound migrant workers

It will cover repatriation costs in case of employment termination.

Manpower agencies deploying Bahrain-bound Overseas Filipino Workers must now deposit $398 (BHD 150) as insurance for every work permit issued, in addition to the regular work permit fee, the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced.

This insurance deposit will cover repatriation costs in case of employment termination.

Bahrain's Labour Market Regulatory Authority clarified that the policy applies exclusively to licensed manpower agencies providing temporary workers under hourly, daily, monthly, or yearly contracts.

The regulation will be enforced after its publication in Bahrain's official gazette, the DMW said.
