Cambodia insurance premiums rise 5.8% to $43m in January

This was larger than the previous month’s $34m.

Cambodian insurers saw their gross premiums in January jump by 5.8% year-on-year (YoY) to $42.7m, data from the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia showed.

This was larger than December’s $33.6m.

The life industry increased by 3.23% YoY to $18.4m, whilst the number of policies more than doubled (139.4% YoY) to 171,411.

Similarly, its general insurance sector increased by 7.8% YoY to $24.3m. Likewise, the number of policies surged 133.2% YoY to 69,356 during the period.
