AIA Singapore launches new policy features vs COVID-19

The enhancements are available to HealthShield Gold Max policyholders.

AIA Singapore has rolled out enhancements to its HealthShield Gold Max policy in a bid to further protect policyholders and their dependents from COVID-19, according to a news release.

The insurer will cover the costs of video medical consultations provided by tele-medicine services provider WhiteCoat for its HealthShield Gold Max policyholders, who can avail of the service through the AIA Healthcare App.

A pre-negotiated rate of $12 (US$8.46) per consultation will be charged if policyholders have already utilised 50,000 video consultations.

AIA will also extend claims pre-authorisation to cover all non-emergency admissions and day surgeries at all private hospitals and healthcare providers across the country. Pre-authorisation is already available for policyholders seeking treatment with AIA Quality Healthcare Partners, effective 15 April. Pre-authorisation is not required for emergency treatments including COVID-19 cases, as eligible claims will be accepted automatically.

HealthShield Gold Max policyholders can easily activate pre-authorisation through the My AIA SG mobile app and the AIA Singapore website.

AIA will also be setting up a dedicated 24/7 policy hotline which will be available 15 April.
