HSBC Life Hong Kong rolls out dementia support programme

Eligible households will receive essential goods and online training modules.

HSBC Life and the Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service (HKLSS) have launched a community support programme that will benefit dementia patients and their caregivers, according to a news release.

Under the HSBC Life - Fulfilling Eldercare Promise, each eligible household will receive a Care Treasure Pack which gives access to online cognitive training modules designed to improve the relationship between patients and their caregivers.

A necessity bag containing essential food items, basic toiletries and epidemic prevention materials will also be distributed.

HKLSS will facilitate door-to-door delivery of both the Necessity Bag and the Care Treasure Pack and provide constant follow-up calls.

This programme is a continuation of the Eldercare Programme introduced last year with the objective to raise awareness around dementia. In May 2019, HSBC became the first bank in Hong Kong to launch a new dementia-friendly bank account.
