Canopius appoints new underwriter, adds to APAC team

Robert Barnum will lead the expansion of Canopius' operation in the region

Specialty reinsurer, Canopius, appointed Robert Barnum as underwriter for Professional Lines, Australia, & Asia-Pacific.

Based in Sydney, Barnum brings over a decade of Financial Lines experience, having served as the Head of Professional Lines & Cyber Asia-Pacific at Axis Capital in Singapore.

With experience in leadership and results delivery, he previously held similar roles at AXA XL and Lloyd’s Syndicate Catlin in Australia. 

In his new role, Barnum will lead the expansion of Canopius' operation in the region, establishing a Professional Lines practice across APAC, focusing on Open Market Professional Indemnity and Coverholder business in Australia in collaboration with the broader Casualty team.
