Generali Asia appoints new general manager of China business
He has over 30 years’ of experience in actuarial management and life insurance.
Generali Asia has appointed Gavin Low as General Manager of Generali China Life.
With over 30 years’ experience in actuarial management and Life insurance, Low was recently Head of Life and Chief Actuary for Generali Asia where he was responsible for the company’s Life Actuarial matters and supporting the growth of its Life business in Asia. Low has also held the positions of Chairman of the Board of Generali Indonesia and Board of Director for Generali Life (Hong Kong).
Prior to joining Generali Asia, Low was Chief Actuary at Generali China Life since the company’s inception in 2001. He was instrumental to establishing and developing Generali China Life which has grown to be one of the top joint ventures in China both in terms of premium and profitability. In his position in China, he was also responsible for actuarial, risk management, distribution, product, strategy, and planning.
Low will take over from Alex Cheung who retired in March 2022.
