India’s recently cancelled cricket match triggers $5.75m in insurance claims

The cancellation of the recent match triggered several claims.

India’s recently cancelled T20 cricket match between India and South Africa will likely trigger insurance claims between $5.11m to $5.75m, a report by the Times of India said.

The cancellation will trigger several claims like loss of advertising revenue for the games’ broadcaster Star India and loss of visibility claims for the sponsors like Paytm, MPL, ACC Cements and Dream11 for overs that were not played

Public-sector insurers led by New India Assurance and National Insurance were the providers of some of the covers.
