Zurich deploys 100 engineers amidst 92% surge in AI infra spending

The new practice pulls together more than 100 specialist risk engineers.

Zurich Resilience Solutions, part of Zurich Insurance, has set up a dedicated Data Centre Risk Advisory practice, bringing together more than 100 specialist risk engineers. 

The team will support clients across the full data centre life cycle, from planning and construction to operations, and builds on

Zurich’s recently launched Data Centre Project Guard solution, which tailors builders’ risk cover to data centre projects.

Data centre spending rose 92% year-on-year (YoY) to $32.9b in November 2025, with global investment projected to reach $6.7t by 2030. 

As more facilities are built to support cloud computing and AI, operators face higher exposure to construction delays, downtime, safety incidents, and extreme weather, driving demand for specialised risk engineering.
