Allianz Malaysia, ShopeePay roll out budget accident coverage
The plans are eligible for the govt’s Perlindungan Tenang Voucher Programme.
Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad and ShopeePay have partnered to introduce two personal accident insurance plans priced at $11.82 (RM50) and $17.73 (RM75) annually.
The plans are eligible for the government’s Perlindungan Tenang Voucher (PTV) Programme, which provides a $7.09 (RM30) subsidy to up to two million Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah recipients under the National Budget 2025.
With the voucher, eligible Malaysians can buy coverage for as low as $4.73 (RM20), excluding the 8% sales and service tax (SST).
After tax, the premiums amount to $5.67 (RM24) for the $11.82 (RM50) plan and $12.05 (RM51) for the $17.73 (RM75) plan.The
$11.82 (RM50) plan offers $7,092 (RM30,000) in death or permanent disablement benefits, $11.82 (RM50) daily hospital income for up to 30 days, $118 (RM500) in medical expenses, and $118 (RM500) in flood-related emergency relief.
The $17.73 (RM75) plan provides $11,820 (RM50,000) in death or permanent disablement benefits, $23.64 (RM100) daily hospital income, $177 (RM750) in medical expenses, and $177 (RM750) in flood relief.
Coverage is open to Malaysian citizens aged 18 to 59. Customers can apply through the Shopee or ShopeePay apps by selecting “Tenang” on the insurance homepage and confirming their eligibility.
