Igloo, Foodpanda Thailand float insurance programme for riders

Three insurers will provide different coverage.

Insurtech Igloo and Foodpanda Thailand have partnered to provide riders with an insurance protection programme that will include motor coverage, according to an announcement.

MSIG Thailand will provide the motor coverage, whilst Cigna Insurance will grant personal accident coverage and Tune Insurance will offer daily hospitalisation income protection.

The programme will also provide free COVID-19 protection.

Micro-insurance plans such as this help to meet the $$1.5b insurance gap in Thailand, offering convenience, faster claims processing, and an improved customer experience, the insurtech claimed.

With the aim of growing its presence in the country, Igloo will be expanding its team and introducing new products every month to serve multiple industry verticals. The company is also working towards its next round of funding, as its operations scale in the region.
