Chubb appoints Howell as head of general insurance for Australia, NZ

He will report to Marcos Gunn, regional president of APAC.

Chubb has named Ben Howell as its new country president of the company's general insurance business in Australia and New Zealand.

Presently, Howell is the executive vice president and head of consumer for Chubb Asia Pacific (APAC). 

Howell boasts more than two decades of experience in the insurance sector. He joined Chubb back in 2002 as an underwriter in Sydney and worked for other global insurers before returning to Chubb in 2016. 

In his new role, he will have responsibility for Chubb's property and casualty and personal lines operations across Australia and New Zealand.

He will report to Marcos Gunn, regional president of APAC, and succeeds Peter Kelaher, who has been appointed Division President of Continental Europe, Middle East and North Africa at Chubb

Howell will begin his role on 1 September, subject to regulatory approval.
