IAIS sets global roadmap with 2025-2029 plan on resilience
Climate change, digital, and cyber are core themes for the coming years.
The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) released its Strategic Plan for 2025-2029, focusing on key areas that are expected to shape the insurance landscape globally.
The IAIS identified climate change, digital innovation, and cyber risks, along with the societal role of insurance in resilience building, as core themes for the coming years.
IAIS executive committee chair Shigeru Ariizumi noted the plan emphasised the consistent implementation of global standards and a heightened supervisory focus on these strategic themes.
The IAIS will support member jurisdictions in applying effective supervisory practices and will refine its annual risk assessment to address key sector risks.
The organisation’s objectives remain centred on monitoring risks, establishing effective supervision standards, promoting supervisory understanding, and assessing global standard implementation.
Operationally, IAIS said it will prioritise diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability, whilst enhancing engagement with members and stakeholders and improving efficiency through technology.
