Prudential Hong Kong fast-tracks billing services in 2 Chinese hospitals
Patients can apply for pre-approval of medical expenses.
Prudential Hong Kong is partnering with the Guangzhou United Family Hospital (GZU) and Shanghai United Family Hospital (SHU) to fast-track and simplify billing services at both hospitals.
Medical Expenses Direct Billing Service promises a “worry-free” claims process for customers who have purchased insurance in Hong Kong. It reportedly eliminates the need to travel between two regions for medical treatment.
GZU and SHU are all under the United Family Healthcare (UFH) Group, which Prudential has an earlier strategic collaboration with through the Shenzhen New Frontier United Family Hospital.
GZU and SHU patients who are Prudential policyholders can now apply for pre-approval of medical expenses so that, upon completion of the treatment, Prudential can directly settle the expenses with the UFH Group.
Prudential customers are also granted priority scheduling for medical consultations and room arrangements at both hospitals.
Prudential customers can also access specialist referral services if further medical attention is required.
GZU and SHU will also provide transportation services to other UFH hospitals for further treatment and follow-up care.
Prudential said that demand for partnerships with hospitals is “evident”, citing its recent Medical Freedom Survey, which showed that over 70% of respondents utilised cross-border medical services multiple times annually.
