Total claims payout from Noto quake at JPY20.5B
Accepted claims for the incident was tallied at 76,497.
Data from the General Insurance Association of Japan (GIAJ) showed that total claim payments made from the Noto Peninsula earthquake stood at 25,246.
This was equivalent to $140m (JPY20.53b). The Ishikawa prefecture saw the highest amount with $54m (JPY8.1b) as well as the highest number of claim payments at 9,674.
The numbers represent the total combined figures for member companies of the General Insurance Association of Japan and the Foreign Non-Life Insurance Association of Japan, etc.

Whilst the number of accepted claims includes those where requests for investigations into damage to houses and household goods have been made, requests for advice and inquiries about earthquake insurance coverage, and policyholder contracts. It represents the sum total for houses and household goods.
There were 76,497 accepted claims and 38,533 completed investigations as of 31 January.
