Vietnam ensures insurance access in Typhoon Yagi-hit areas
Facilities providing health insurance-covered treatment can make advance payments.
Vietnam Social Security (VSS) Director General Nguyen The Manh has directed local social security offices to ensure that people in Typhoon Yagi-affected areas receive full and timely access to health and social insurance benefits through streamlined procedures.
Despite significant destruction, Manh highlighted that the sector had fulfilled its responsibilities, with local authorities implementing measures to guarantee continuous access to insurance benefits.
Manh ordered heads of social security offices at provincial and district levels to coordinate with local authorities and ensure that staff remain on duty to execute social insurance policies.
He also mandated that VSS officers be dispatched to severely affected areas to assist residents, even in regions where transportation and infrastructure were disrupted.
In addition, healthcare facilities must prioritise treatment for individuals with serious illnesses or injuries from the typhoon-hit areas.
Facilities providing health insurance-covered treatment can make advance payments to maintain uninterrupted services during the storm's aftermath.
