Singaporean rental platform launches free home insurance
The insurance is embedded directly into the platform in partnership with discovermarket.
Singapore-based rental platform Rently has introduced complimentary home insurance for users of its Rently Care service living in non-landed properties.
Launched on 4 April 2025, the plan covers home contents and offers up to three emergency repair services per coverage period, with each service valued at up to US$116.71 (S$150).
The insurance is embedded directly into the Rently platform through a partnership with global insurtech firm discovermarket.
It provides coverage for household contents, renovations, and specific incidents like fire or burst pipes.
Additional benefits include up to US$778.04 (S$1,000) coverage for valuables such as jewellery, temporary accommodation if the home becomes uninhabitable, and extended appliance warranty worth up to US$311.22 (S$400) under the highest tier.
The move follows a rise in rental scams, with over 13,000 cases reported in 2025.
Rently said the product aims to improve tenant security and address gaps in the rental experience.
