AXA announces management changes in APAC

Hassan El-Shabrawishi is now the CEO of International Markets, covering Southeast Asia.

Ahead of its strategic plan launch in 2024, AXA has conducted changes in its management committee.

Key changes within or affecting the Asia region began with Hassan El-Shabrawishi, who was appointed as CEO of International Markets and will spearhead operations in Southeast Asia (including India), Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey.

Meanwhile, the new non-executive Chairman for Asia would be Gordon Watson.

“As Non-Executive Chairman for Asia, he will support the implementation of this new phase and continue to help the teams with his unique experience,” said Thomas Buberl, CEO of AXA.

Also, former Chief Strategic Development Officer for AXA Asia, Françoise Gilles, will take on the role of Chief Risk Officer for the group.

El-Shabrawishi and Gilles will begin the tasks of their newly appointed titles on 1 July.
