MSIG Asia CEO Alan J. Wilson retires after 14 years
COO Clemens Philippi set to take the wheel on 1 April.
MSIG Asia has announced the retirement of its chief executive officer, Alan J. Wilson on 1 April 2022.
Taking his place will be MSIG Asia chief operating officer, Clemens Philippi, who will take on the role the same day as Wilson’s retirement.
Wilson will however, remain as a senior advisor until early July 2022, to support the transition. He will also remain as the Director of MSIG Asia and an Executive Officer of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (Japan) and Deputy Head of the International Business Department. He will continue to sit on seven other boards and will continue to be based in Singapore.
Wilson has been MSIG Asia’s CEO for 14 years, since joining the Group in early 2008. Under his leadership, the company has delivered consistent top- and bottom-line growth in Asia and expanded its network in the region to 14 markets. In April 2015, Wilson was also honoured with his appointment as the first foreign executive officer in Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (Japan). He has also served as Chairman and/or a Director on the Boards or equivalent for 20 MSIG-related entities around the region.
